Why monitoring your liver?

The prevalence of liver disease is increasing dramatically. Liver diseases such as alcoholic disease, viral hepatitis or metabolic steatohepatitis (also known as NASH) are silent diseases. Often diagnosed too late, they can have irreversible consequences on overall health. It is therefore essential to detect liver damage as early as possible to manage the disease.

How is the examination performed?

A liver examination with FibroScan® is simple, quick (about 5 minutes), non-invasive (nothing goes into the body), totally painless, with measurable and immediate results.

The examination does not require anesthesia, no preparation.
You must be fasting (coffee and unsweetened tea allowed) for 3 hours before the examination.
A probe is placed in the intercostal spaces, and you may feel a slight vibration when the measurement is taken.

Are you at risk?

Do you suffer from type 2 diabetes?
Are you overweight or obese?
Do you have high blood pressure?
Do you have a frequent and regular consumption of alcohol, industrial food, sodas, sweetened drinks, or sugar?
Do you use drugs or have any addictions?
Are you taking any medication such as methotrexate, immunotherapy, or hormone therapy?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may have liver damage and we recommend that you discuss this with your general practitioner and consider a liver examination with FibroScan® to check your liver health.
